Although i finished this build several months ago, I just finished editing the video of the whole build process. Enjoy!
After finishing the build of the 3DR and printing out frame extenders, I quickly realized that the frame for the 3DR was not nearly as rigid as I would have hoped. Since I wanted a more rigid design, I went with the griffin delta. It is very similar to the mini Kossel, but has a support for double the 2020 extrusions at the top of the frame to make the frame more rigid. In addition, I really liked the derlin wheels on v-slot as the medium for linear motion. I recycled the steppers, hotend, cold end, various screws, and the electronics from the 3DR, but I am looking to upgrade the electronics to a board that supports 32 bit processing like the Azteeg x5 mini with the viki 2 display. Unfortunately, After the 3DR, the amount of funds I had was drastically reduced. Since I wanted to upgrade to the griffin, I asked for a grant to build the griffin as my project for the school STEAM fair (more details here: ). Graciously, the school organization involved with donations and student scholarships (Los Alamitos Education Foundation or LAEF) granted me the necessary funds to complete my project.
Although some elements of the design were created by me, credit goes to sheepdog for designing the griffin detla and posting it in an open manor. Here is sheepdog's forums: http://griffinprinter.org/Griffin%20OS/index.php
